Imagine yourself, walking through a city one day passing by hundreds maybe thousands of
people of all ages, genders, and cultures, and not knowing a single thing about any of those
people. Have you ever wondered, what kind of secrets some of those people could be keeping
from the world? You’re probably thinking to yourself, “What does it matter if I know anything
about those people or not? Chances are, I probably will never see any those people ever again
anyways.” Right? That is because, most people are not very observant of other people, they just
go on about their own life and continue on with what they were doing. What would you think, if
just one person who had passed by you earlier today has a secret so large that their life depends
on it? How would it make you feel, if you found out about that one person’s secret that they were
keeping from the rest of the world, and the secret was the fact that they are an illegal immigrant
who now lives in the United States? The only problem is, how can you tell who has an American
citizenship or not? Illegal immigrants look just like your average person, so really it’s very hard
to tell.
An immigrant who is living in the United States illegally means that, a person has entered the
United States without inspection and has no verification or citizenship to live in the United States
but are living here anyways. We do know that crossing the U.S. border illegally is not
impossible, but it’s not super easy either. Many people argue and say that most immigrants who
want to come to the United States is because they want to live the “American Dream”, there is
better job opportunities here, they want to reunite with their family, and they can receive benefits
and recourses from the government such as free healthcare. But unfortunately, there is a
significant amount of immigrants who do not have the ability to pay for their entry into the
United States, so this is why they chose to cross the border illegally and/or another way to pay
for their entry is by smuggling illegal drugs or taking part in human trafficking. Though there is
