IKEA Case Study Analysis: Child Labor
The following case analysis will discuss the issues brought to the attention of Marianne
Barner, IKEA’s business area manager for carpets, during the 1990s as child labor was gaining
more antipathy from consumers. The following analysis will give a brief overview of the
situation, discuss the problems that arise from the situation, develop solutions to alleviate the
situation and provide recommendations for IKEA on how to proceed. The purpose of this case
