Human Trafficking
Although prostitution is a very serious crime, sometimes there is more to the reasons
someone becomes a prostitute, so nobody should ever be quick to judge someone that sells their
body. Human trafficking is illegal transportation of humans for forced labor or forced sexual
exploitation. There are a lot of misconceptions that human trafficking only occurs in poor, or
suffering nations but the truth is trafficking is huge problem all over the world. Although human
trafficking consists of forced labor and sexual exploitation, the most common form of trafficking
is sex trafficking.
Whenever someone hears the term “human trafficking” everyone immediately thinks of
foreign countries because they do not realize is that the United States has more victims of
trafficking then another other country (Kristen Clause and Katie Lawer). There are 1.5 million
people in the US that are victims, along with three out of every 1000 people worldwide that are
victims of forced labor (“5 Things You Didn’t Know About Human Trafficking”). Although
forced labor is not something that anyone would want to be involved in; it mainly consists of
people being forced to work in horrible conditions and long hours. But on the other side of
