Today, There are millions of company’s around the world. Among them, my
dream company is a GS Caltex, which is the number one oil company in South Korea.
This research paper will guide me to enter my dreamy company. GS Caltex established
in 1967 a joint investment with Chevron and Locky goldstar. Jin-soo Huh is CEO of GS
Caltex company. GS Caltex is global oil company in the world. Basically, 2900 gas
stations and 400 LPG gas stations are located in South Korea. Moreover, 50% of this
company’s products are export to many countries such as China, Brazil, India, Russia,
Singapore and 15 more countries. GS Caltex also produces Para xylene 1.2 million
tons for a year and benzene, xylene, and toluene 2.8 million tons for years. GS
company have largest scale of these productions in the world. Moreover, GS produces
26,000 barrels for high quality rube base oil. More than 70% of production exported
many countries.
This chart indicates how GS Caltex grew up since 1969.
In addition, GS produces lots of manufactures such as complexing resin, asphalt,
aviation turbine fuel, lubricating oil for industry, LPG, homopolymer and so on. These
manufactures are GS Caltex’s business.
I interviewed with Donsung Choi who was executive director of GS Caltex. I
called him several times to ask questions about the company. He answered all my
questions nicely and detailed. First question was that what are the GS Caltex’s criteria
to hire candidates and the process of selection. There are five different steps the
company judges and selects candidates.
First of all, every candidates must submit their resume and cover letter on the GS
Caltex’s website. Donsung Choi told me to process of document examinations. The
company’s human resource department did not look all applicant’s resumes and
cover letters. Company hired recruiting company, which he did not told me recruiting
company name for security, to check applicants’ documents. I asked him why did the
