Persuasive Speech
It is our human nature to want to receive things, but it is a
harder idea for us to grasp when giving back. Giving back to the
community can be done in many ways, most people can’t think
of all the ways it is possible.
Finding a charity to donate to is something many people do to
make themselves feel like they are contributing to our society
in a positive way.
The Boys and Girls Club of America wants to give back
intelligent and social children as their contribution.
Hi, my name is Miranda Godwin and I am here to persuade you
to not only consider a charity to start donating to, but I want to
convince you that The Boys and Girls Club of America is the
best decision.
When leaving school every day as a young child, I remember
having to go to my grandmother’s place of work until it was
time to go home. After-school programs were not around in my
town except for varsity sports teams.
The Boys and Girls Club gives the opportunity for over 4 million
children from ages 6 to 18 to be involved with afterschool
activities that everyone can join in, as well as tutoring if
needed.
Not only do they provide after school programs but they also
partake in summer camps and many different sports leagues
that kids who couldn’t play for varsity are now eligible to play.
Education and fitness are fundamental skills that everyone
needs in life and because of B&GC it has caused for 80% of
members to want to be more educated and active because they
now have a fun environment to do it in.
The Boys and Girls Club teaches kids how to create a regular
schedule of physical activity that playing video games at home
wouldn’t do.
