Michael White and David Epson have shaken the world of counselling and therapy by the
development of Narrative therapy. The idea behind narrative therapy is a postmodern approach
and challenges the most recognizable and most popular method of clinical diagnosis for mental
disorders around the world. To understand narrative therapy, one must be familiar with the idea
Diagnosis and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(DSM-5). This manual has been used for
years by psychologists, counselors, doctors, and physicians to clinically diagnosis individuals
with mental disorders. This method and any similar methods that label abnormal psychology will
