Cloning of Organisms – Gene Therapy to Treat Human Disease
The process of cloning includes producing multiple copies of genetically identical cells or
of an individual gene. How this is done, is by transplanting blastocysts from one embryo to
the cells of another nuclei. Genes may be cloned by the isolation of the genomes of one
organism and transplanting them into the genome of an asexually reproducing organism.
The cloning of organisms has spiraled into the cure or the long term correction of many
diseases. If cloning and the study of cells and genetic mutation progress there could in the
future be more permanent solutions to disorders and diseases.
The AAAS or the American Association for the Advancement of Science is a non-profit
organization that specializes in a lot of scientific research along with human cloning. The
cloning of organisms have been debated over the time whether it is right or wrong to do
this. Many religious people feel that it is not right and should not be done, and others feel
that it is a scientific outbreak and that one day scientists will discover a way to cure most
diseases and abnormalities. There are many states that ban the cloning of many things such
as animals and human cloning.
Cloning in my opinion can open gates to a lot of possible outbreaks in scientific research
for cures in diseases, I am not against the reproduction of cells for this reason. There is a
