1. What is the feeling and / or impression of the group re: SAQ as a tool based on the individual result
of each of its parts?
Diversity is omnipresent. Every individual has a different perspective in life, we each
discern and undertake things in our unique way. Responding to self–assessment questions can be
a helping hand in knowing ourselves more. Based on our individual results from the Self–
Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ), we were pleased that the results revealed a lot about our
personalities. We initially thought that the questionnaires were the same as before since they
somewhat have the same objectives but our results in this SAQ are more in–depth and have led us
to certain realizations that are beneficial for us and our relationships with others.
As cliche as it sounds, no man is an island. Soon we have to communicate, relate and
express our thoughts, opinions, and learnings to live harmoniously with other people. However, we
have always been curious as to how we will be able to do it. In this activity, our group realized that
there is no single way to communicate ourselves but to know who we are first. Then it will reflect
on who we are as a person and the people we will be able to work with, like how we formed our
group. In this activity, we chose to be with the people who we know can help us, mold us and get
us to achieve more. Yes, upon hearing our results, we realized we have our differences. But as we
dug deeper, we realized that we have been standing on common ground, such as our beliefs and
values.
2. Is there a part of it (SAQ1–4) which the group considers most irrelevant? What is it and why or why
none?
Based on the observation, the group concluded that there are no irrelevant parts in the
SAQ. All the parts in the Self–Awareness questionnaire were needed to help the users of the SAQ
to understand further the relationship between the user and their attitude towards the given
situation.
The group believes that all the components of the SAQ are important to better understand
why we interact with each other in a specific way, what we want from our interaction with others,
how we are able to get what we want (e.g. self, relationships, career, etc.), and how we usually
relate ourselves to and with other people. In addition, the individual results of the SAQ shows that
these are aspects of ourselves that say a lot about our characteristics or personalities. It is an
opportunity for us to reflect on such and discern whether this is something that we would like to
continue doing in our everyday lives or if it is beneficial for us and for others in the future when we
are immersed in the workplace.
