General Purpose: To explain the many new challenges HR managers face if their employees decide to
unionize.
Specific Purpose: To understand the importance of a good HR plan when dealing with unions.
Central Idea: Unions bring a tougher stance in dealings with companies
INTRODUCTION:
While dealing with individual employees is challenging enough, if they decide to unionize, the challenges
faced by a Human Resources manager will be far bigger. Negotiations regarding wages, benefits,
working conditions, and even grievances will now have to be negotiated and tendered by an HR expert
who has the tools to protect the company they work for from a bad deal. In our research, we will focus
