1.) Why should healthcare executives conduct a job analysis? What purpose does it serve?
Health care executives should conduct job analysis to find the best suited employees to
perform and meet certain qualifications in their appropriate job setting. This method of
conduction can be used also for liability purposes to protect the executive in better finding
a qualified candidate.
2.) What are job descriptions and job specifications? What is their relationship to job
analysis? What will happen if a healthcare organization decides not to use any job
descriptions? Job Description describes the duties involved in that job. Job specifications
are qualifications and certifications a candidate must have to better qualify for that job
position. If a job does not have any job description’s they would have under qualified
candidates applying for a job where they would not be competent in.
5.) Describe and discuss future-oriented job analysis and generic job analysis. How may
each be used to help healthcare executives cope with a rapidly changing and competitive
environment? What are some potential pitfalls of each approach? Future-oriented job
analysis revolves around a clear view on how certain duties can be reorganized to meet job
requirements. A generic job analysis is more of a traditional approach of a specific job
