Why I Want to Become a Pilot
Ever since I can remember, I have been exposed to airplanes and aviation in general. The
first memory I have of aviation is visiting the Blue Angels in Pensacola, Florida and I was
instantly hooked. My grandfather is the main cause of why aviation has played such as huge part
in my family. He was a flight instructor in Vietnam and would eventually get a job and retire
with Northwest Airlines. His son, my uncle, took the civilian root to gaining a career as an
airline captain. He started working on the ramp at Memphis International loading boxes. All of
their success and experience has led me to where I am today, at Middle Tennessee State
University studying aerospace.
Just like most Pro Pilot students, I am motivated to end up working at a major airline
such as UPS, FedEx, or Delta. While talking to current pilots of these companies, this is not as
