How have humans impacted biodiversity? Why do your authors claim that we are

now going through a major extinction event? What role do humans play in this

event and should we (could we) either slow down this even or stop it?

Human have impacted biodiversity in many way such as through the use of

agriculture industrialization and medical scenes through prolong life. With these

techniques and methods human being has achieved a ability to alter many aspects of their

lives including life expand, disease prevalence, and increase rate of survival in the

population. However, the technological and agricultural innovation that human being able

to utilize have had many negative impacts as well. These impacts include the effects on

environmental level such as drinking water, climate patterns, ocean temperature and

acidity, and species population survival. This is as a result of industrialization of actives

that are necessary to sustain the human population. Since the human population is larger

than it has ever been, and continues to grow steadily, industrial waste and pollutants are

continuously produce as a by product of processes necessary for that population. Many of

this processes that create these products directly or indirectly impact the environment.

One of the ways that this is happing is as result of carbon omissions that are released in

the atmosphere in concentration that exceed the normal amount of carbon dioxide that

usually be released in the atmosphere by any process that is not facilitated by man.

Since the amount of carbon dioxide released in atmosphere through man made

means, far exceeds the normal amount of carbon dioxide that would typically release by

natural means. This has allowed for an excessive amount of carbon dioxide to accumulate

in the atmosphere which has acted to retain radiation that enters earth’s atmosphere from

the sun. As a result, it increases the surface temperature of the earth. This change has

impacted global weather patterns and negatively impacted many species on the earth that
