Abstract:
This paper will be the discussion of U.S. military influence in
Okinawa Japans Local Culture by exploring the interactions with
U.S. personnel ,as well as daily lifestyle, operations and political
views in Okinawa’s vastly growing region. Okinawa is home to
multiple military installations, which hold all four U.S. military
branches to include personnel and their families. This research
will be used to create cultural understanding for international
business operations. By carefully examining the history of military
influence by statistics, trade publications , scholarly journals and
first hand experience living in Okinawa, I will be able to derive
how the military influences the local culture. More so, I will
discuss my own opinion of how the local people respond to the
influence. Okinawa has a long report of U.S. military presence,
and is no stranger to its attributes, both accepted and unwanted.
