1, How can you as a team leader mitigate groupthink or the Abilene Paradox?
There are many negative effect of too much group think. According to the power point, over
group thinking, it will lead too overconfident, closed-mindedness and group pressure.
If I were a team leader, I would develop self-leadership of our team member. The purpose is that
I might absent sometimes or not always accompany with the group. our team member should
have own ability to handle problem even anyone can lead the group to a correct direction.
2. Discuss several ways you can become a more effective listener.
There are many ways to become an effective listener. Discriminative listening.
Comprehensive listening. Therapeutic or empathetic listening. Critical listening. Appreciative
listening. All of the are useful for a leader. Discriminative listening can help leader to understand
which point is real. Comprehensive listening and therapeutic listening and empathetic listening
can make leader more understand about speakers’ point. Critical listening is a form of listening
that if usually not mentioned, since it involves analysis, critical thinking and judgment. Making
