Houston Chronicle
Flipping through the pages of the Houston Chronicle, there was no shortage of
advertisements from companies displaying their products and services. Ranging from
grocery stores and department stores to home restoration services, there was a large
variety of ads that could not be missed. The types of ads varied on the product or service
– smaller or newer businesses typically took up a corner of the page introducing their
company and provided free or discounted services. Bigger, more established companies
on the other hand (Sprint, HEB, Mattress Firm) took up page wide spreads and targeted
both new and repeat customers with multiple ads, product highlights, and steep discounts.
