1) A very huge reason we should slaughter horses is because once the ban of horse slaughter the
horse market dropped dras2cally. Lots of people tried to blame it on the dry years and the
terrible economy but in every o<cial report banning of horse slaughter was the real reason.
Since the ban of horse slaughter the number of horses sent to Mexico alone to be slaughtered
has increased by 660%(Rowe, Allison). Horses are not like cats or dogs, a person cannot simply
drop oB an unwanted horse at a shelter and walk away. Horse shelters are already Clled to the
brink. According to the GAO (Government Accountability O<ce) surveys with vets neglected
horses and mistreated/underfed horses have grown 50% (Rowe, Allison). I myself am from
