Patient compliance is the degree to which a patient’s behaviour follows the clinician’s
recommendations and acknowledges the healthcare specialist’s authority. Patient compliance
may be critical for improving patient results, reducing health problems, and avoiding
readmissions to the hospital. In addition, compliance is essential in lowering mortality and
healthcare costs (Beena & Jose, 2013).
For patients to comply with therapy, healthcare providers must provide sufficient
information to the client. To promote compliance, healthcare practitioners should also educate
the patient. Patient rudeness, inability to give suitable information to the client, and deprived
communication are all instances of how healthcare providers may induce non-compliance
