Homeostasis
Anemia is a condition of the human body characterized by a reduced concentration of
hemoglobin in a unit of blood volume, and, as a rule, correlating with a simultaneous
decrease in the number of red blood cells, which is a consequence of a disturbance of
homeostasis. Anemia is considered one of the most common pathological conditions among
the world’s population. In order to study this disease more deeply, it is necessary to find out
its causes, the main methods of treatment, and possible issues.
Causes
There are many different causes of anemia including bleeding (trauma, ulcer bleeding,
hemorrhoids, profuse menstruation); systemic blood disease; helminthic invasion;
anticoagulant intake; deficiency of substances necessary for the synthesis of hemoglobin
(iron, vitamin B12, folic acid); cancer; bone marrow; hereditary factors and others (Ozdemir,
