Hmong American Immigration
Since 1975, waves of Hmong refugees have assimilated into the American culture. The
assimilation process is never easy, and the e,orts are more challenging when considering the integration
between Hmongs and Americans; America being the most technologically advance country in the world,
while “ Hmongs were educationally, vocationally, technologically, and linguistically unprepared refugees.
In Understanding the challenges many early Hmong refugees encountered, e,orts and adjustments have
been made to lessen the burden of assimilating into the American culture.
