Response Paper #1: “Manifesto of Futurism” by F.T. Marinetti
F.T. Marinetti’s “Manifesto of Futurism” sparked a revolution like none other within the
art community and spearheaded a completely new brand of visual art and graphic design. There
are three main points within the essay that all intertwine with one another: speed, revolution, and
violence. Marinetti wanted the Futurists to revolt against previous artistic and social standards;
“… revolt will be essential elements of our poetry” (Marinetti). Revolution, then, has a
