Although the British Colonists were in all 13 colonies majority stayed the New England colonies. They
stuck to their puritan’s ways and did not welcome others with di!erent beliefs. As the population grew
land became increasingly harder and harder to get even through partible inheritance. Therefore many
se%lers went to trading in the Atlantic Trade seeking their wealth. These Yankee Traders even gave
Puritanism a run for its money as the dominating faith in the New England colonies. The French and
Dutch had strong presence in the new world and had strong ties with the Native Americans primarily for
trade. Unlike England they never bothered to sponsor these colonies for growth. Moreover they did not
welcome immigrates in to these colonies there by limiting the number of colonists in these regions. So
while the British colonies was growing the French and Dutch colonies were at a standstill or decreasing.
Due to immigration and the fact the Puritans did not welcome people of other faiths. The middle
colonies such as Pennsylvania with it understanding on other faiths and the promise of huge plots of
land for farming saw a large in-ux of immigration mostly Scots-Irish and German. In fact by the 18th
century less than one-third on the population could trace their lineage back to England. Because of the
war torn countries and starvation many immigrates who could not a!ord their passage either became a
redemptioners or indentured servants. Down in the Virginia the population boomed for entirely
di!erent reason. Slavery was a daily norm and it provided free labor making land owners very rich so
the more slaves you have the be%er your production of sugar, rice, and tobacco. Since slavery was
forever and they had no rights white land owners lived like kings and even act like it. There is no doubt
