Courtly love
1. Based on Lancelot character he made a very tension fight between the knight and getting the
lady queen back. This love made Lancelot braver and more motivated to get the queen back.
Also, if he loses he would lose the honor and the queen will belong to the evil king.
2. Medieval knights had sort of code to each other that they are beyond the laws, and yet loyal to
the king. This allowed them to do anything whether it’s ethical or moral, it would not matter to
the chivalries. Therefore, Lancelot did a good thing by saving the queen from the horrible
elegant because women were considered dependent and weaker than men.
3. At this time, the lords and the kings were seen as honorable because they are looking out for
the people and they are self-less. On the other hand, peasants were not educated enough to be
seen as honored. Since Lancelot have a honor title, he is obliged to fight for the people. Like,
Lancelot fought for Guinevere because he is saving from a bad king and this seems self-less.
