Kush Hinduism
Wherever there is life there is traces of culture and religion. This can be observed
throughout history. Religion and culture affects a person on a daily basis. It contributes
to there lifestyle as well as their behavior. Religion is basically certain beliefs that are
practiced by a community who believes that the faiths of the religion are righteous and
pure.
The religion that has affected me in a positive way is Hinduism. Hinduism is one
of the largest and oldest cultures known to us today. To be exact Hinduism is the third
largest organized religion in the world (Religious Tolerence.org). In Sanskrit, one of the
oldest languages recorded, Hinduism is known as “Sanatana Dharma,” Sanatana meaning
everlasting and Dharma meaning religion. The everlasting religion of Hinduism was
found in the country of India. It has thrived and blossomed so much in India that India
itself is called Hindustan. It is a combination of charateristics of traditions and rituals, of
devotional and philosophical systems built up over many years arising from indigenous
cults. Even though its origin is from India, Hinduism is a religion that has spread
throughout the world. Some of the places where you can see this religion in practice
besides India are in the United States, Austrailia, South Africa, Trinadad, Pakistan,
Burma, Fijj Islands, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. Hinduism has many faiths and beliefs that
can be practiced by anyone who believes in it religious contents (Wikipedia: Hinduism).
As read in the book, “The Gems of Vedic Wisdom” it mentions, “India gave to the world
the original, oldest and most profound philosophy of life” (Sharma, pg 16). Showing us
that Hinduism has had a vast philosophical impact on people and the way they live there
life. Hinduism is a way of perceiving life through a from of religion. Figuring out how it

affects every aspect of a Hindu person (a person who believes in Hinduism), from birth
till the day they become deceased.
The Indian religion is base upon polytheism, the belief of many gods (Sharma, A).
There is a class of hierarchy in the system of god and people. All the gods have different
responsiblities in the upkeeping of there creation. The Hindu gods are worshipped in
various ways. Some of these are through their incarnations, manifestation forms, and
through their ideal sculptures. Paramathma the supreme god he is the incarnator of all,
even gods. In the Hindu religion gods have different responsibilities. God Brahma has
the masculine form and is known as the creator. God Vishnu is known as the protector
and maintainer. God Shiva, Siva Nataraja, is known as the destroyer and re-creator.
