Henry Ford
Henry Ford’s History:
Henry Ford was born on July 30th 1863 in Dearborn Michigan. His interest in assembling
things began when he was only thirteen. At that age his father gave him a pocket watch,
and he decided he wanted to take it apart and take a look into what makes it work. He soon
got pretty good at fixing these watches and before long he was fixing multiple watches for
other people in the area. Although he grew up on a farm, Ford never really felt that was
what he wanted to do with his life. Feeling unfulfilled he began looking for something
more, something he would be passionate about. At the young age of sixteen, he decided it
was time for him to leave home and go out on his own. He started off with a job as a
machinist in Detroit Michigan. Throughout the career, he worked on steam engines and
became comfortable with them as well as working on bookkeeping.
Soon after, in 1888 he gets married to a woman named Clara Ala Bryant and had to return
to farming so that he could provide for his new found wife and son. In a short few years
after that he was hired as an engineer for the Edison illuminating company, and it only
took two years before he received a promotion to a chief engineer. While he was working
for the company, he was also constantly working on a way to have a horse drawn carriage
run without the actual horse. In 1896, ford came up with the first model and called it the
