To the Parents and Guardians of
TS Nurnberger Middle School Students
We were made aware by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that low
levels of contaminated soil were located close to our school’s outdoor sporting facilities.
It should be noted that none of the soil sampled at St. Louis School District’s property
contained levels of contaminated soil that could impact students or staff. Though
students are not at risk, we were informed by the EPA that wildlife, particularly birds in
the area, could be affected. Parents should not be alarmed, as joint efforts from TS
Nurnberg School and the EPA plans to work diligently to solve this issue. With funding
from the city of St. Louis, we plan to use the latest and most advanced equipment to
efficiently clean up areas near our outdoor sporting facilities.
Updates will be sent out to parents and guardians on improvements made and
crucial information to keep you aware of our progress. We’re kindly asking everyone to
join our EPA emailing list to receive updates. Parents and guardians will also have the
TS Nurnberger Middle School
