True leadership is based on the desire to make the world a better place
through positive impact. In this assignment, you will practice leadership by
providing guidance and inspiration to an upcoming student. You will write a
letter that shares and example of a challenge you’ve overcome, and what
you learned from the experience.
Letter to a New Student
All achievements begin as ideas. Between the idea and the achievement, there will be lots of hard work.
You will experience both successes and challenges along the way. Once you arrive at your final
destination, it will be time to celebrate! Today you will write a letter to a new student, which will serve as
both a reminder of your commitment and a celebration of your success. Now imagine that you have
graduated from UMA, and that you have accepted a position in your future career. Write a three-
paragraph letter which fulfills the three requirements below.
