Ethical Practice in Health Care Professions
Most career disciplines today have a policy of ethics that employees must abide by for
the betterment of the company. When it comes to health care professions, they must take their
patients, families, and funders into account when it comes to their ethic practices. Whereas, in
other disciplines, their ethical policies are in effect for their employees and maybe volunteers.
The problem with the way that heath care professions is that having money from other
companies and organizations is that sometimes you may have to put the needs of those
organizations before the needs of their patients. They get put in these predicaments because the
organizations have a financial power over them so when these companies have needs that need to
be met, they hospital will have to cut certain programs or have to implement different procedures
to adjust to the needs of their benefactors. In Ethical Practice in Child Life, “An important next
step to help you avoid having to balance the needs of public relations and funders with the health
and developmental needs of your patients, would be to advocate within your hospital to augment
the child life budget.” (LeBlanc)
In most disciplines, their ethic polices are for their employees, board of directors, etc. But
the difference between the two are that there are no other third party organizations involved in
their ethic policies. The good thing about that is that everyone had the same view of where the

making the company choose between two different types of people that are benefiting from the
company or benefiting the company.
As you can see, hospital ethical policies are very different from most ethical policies in
