Hawaiian Volcanoes
Hawaii is a territory of the United states and is comprised of 132 islands. Hawaii is home
to over 1,400,000 people. 1500 years ago, the Polynesians migrated into the islands. The islands
were not united at first, and there was constant war between them. In 1790, there was a battle
between the forces of the Big Island, Hawaii, and the forces of Maui. But in 1810, the islands
were united under the rule of Kamehamehal. Shortly after, in 1835, agriculture took root and the
sugar plantation became popular. Hawaii was annexed by the united states in 1898 and made a
state on August 21, 1959. Today, the population of Hawaii is diverse, with a blend of Asian,
white, and Pacific Islander, as well as many other races. On the Big Island, Hawaii, is the Hawaii
Volcanoes National Park which was established as in 1916. Tourist come from all over to see its
