Hamlet’s Reaction to The Ghost
Prince Hamlet is, by title, the main character of one of William Shakespeare’s most
famous tragedies, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Residing comfortably in the royal Elsinore castle
situated Denmark, Prince Hamlet copes with the recent death of his father, King Hamlet. In
addition to mourning the death of his father and prior king, Prince Hamlet has the pleasure of
seeing his uncle Claudius, the new king, wedded to his “seeming-virtuous” (1.5.47) mother,
