The play that I will analyze is Hamlet by William Shakespeare. I will analyze this play
using a combination of gender, political, and psychological analysis, as all three of these are
relevant to Hamlet. I will support the thesis that the only person Hamlet felt like he could truly
trust was his father King Hamlet. After the death of the King, Hamlet began to feel like
everyone was either at fault, untrustworthy, or didn’t have his best interest at heart.
Using gender analysis, gender plays a huge role in Hamlet. Although Hamlet cared a
great deal for both women in the play, his mother Gertrude and his woman of interest Ophelia,
