Gun Violence Introduction
After spending days debating between poverty, AIDS, and many other thesis to write my
research paper on, I came to a conclusion to use gun violence as my thesis. I choose to
write my
paper on gun violence because it is one of the social issues that is really affecting many
innocent
lives throughout the world today and I want to bring that fact to people’s attention. Many
people
today feel like they have the right to bear arms due to the second Amendment of the United
States’ Constitution. This instinct is in fact one hundred percent true but what happens
when the
wrong people get a hold of guns. The second Amendment of the United States’
Constitution
gives the right to carry a conceal weapon with the right paper work or license, but it does
not
give the right to kill. Gun violence has increased tremendously throughout the years. It was
the
fifth caused of death in 2007. The violence is affecting many lives throughout the world
especially the majority of the minorities in the United States. It is affecting the lives of the
people
who we truly admired and those around us. “While handguns account for only one-third of
all
firearms owned in the United States, they account for more than two-thirds of all firearm-
related deaths each year(Kellerman, Lee, and Mercy ).” Today, I have a chance to bring the
affects of gun violence to your attention and hopefully we will work as a community to
help
eliminate these disasters and nightmares that we have been having.
Gun Violence
In the world that we are living in today, there are a lot of issues, conflicts, and problems
that affecting our lives on a daily basis. For example, there are child pornography, rape,
robbery,
murder and etc. My philosophy is that things always happen for a reason. All of these
major
problems or issues are commonly link to one thing. Statistically speaking, guns play a
major role
in each of these problems. To support this logic, I gathered an article from the Palm Beach
Post
news bank where a man was killed from a robbery gone wrong (Barbera, Teri). Gun
violence is
one of the social issues that is really affecting many innocent lives throughout the world
today.
Did you know guns were the fifth caused of death in 2007? Many people are not fully
aware of
this situation or they just try to avoid it as much as possible to escape reality. The reality is,
we
are living in a world full of envious and close-minded people who are unable to reasoning
