In the USA, the gun is a legal weapon, which people can keep it in their house, or use it
when they are hunting. The sometimes gun is the real thing that people can use it to protect their
safety, but the gun is also threatening people’ lives. On July 31, 2015, and eight-years-old Huston

dead by the gun shoot. About the weapon safety or not, people have different ideas, some people
think the government should publish more laws to restrict the gun because many people had
death in the shootings; while other people don’t agree with that. They think the primary reason
for the shooting accident is that the people cannot use the gun correctly, or children have played
guns when their parents out. So, people think the government should teach people how to use the
weapon correctly and teach children basic knowledge about the weapons. They think gun control
is not the basic way to decrease shootings. And I want to use the American gun culture and gun
laws to analysis why shooting always happened.
Currently, The United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people, or about 270,000,000 guns,
which is the highest total and per capita number in the world. And in the USA, the American gun
culture has a long history of its colonial culture. The relevant law for guns is must the Second
Amendment, Second Amendment protected people’s right to have their gun and also make some
restriction for guns. The second amendment claims that American citizen could keep their gun
legally. In the past, guns are the usual things in the colonial area, people used to use the gun to
hunt or self-protection. Then in American Revolution war, guns were used as the weapon to
protect the American territories. In some colonies’ laws, including in Connecticut (1643) and at
least five other colonies, required “at least one adult man in every house to carry a gun to church
or other public meetings” to protect against attacks by Native Americans. Even for some other
colonies’ laws also required immigrants to own guns to immigrate or own land, at that times,
guns seemed like the common weapon in colonial territories. Although guns were common in
