Guilt: The Power to Change the Outcome
In the novel Ophiuchi Hotline, Lilo's clone was the one that committed
murder, but Lilo herself should bear some of the guilt because she was
responsible for all of her previous actions that enviably ended in crime. I believe it
is a valid reaction for a person to feel guilt when they play a part in creating a
scenario where an incident occurs, even if they cannot be held liable for the
actual incident. I define guilt by the feeling that you should have or could have
acted differently to prevent a certain outcome. Therefore, even if you believe you
