Growing up in the eighties was great just like growing up in the fifties sounds especially
in a small town. Things were simpler years ago, the pace of society was slower and people were
more relaxed, unlike todays fast pace world. Kids could play in the streets until dark without
parents worrying as much about their kids getting abducted or getting hooked on drugs. Small
town life was different then as compared to the small town life of today.
I found that the book Growing Up In The Last Small Town to be an interesting look back
at the fifties/sixties of how life in a small town was. One of the things I liked about growing up
in a small town was the size of the schools and the class rooms. There were more kids that went
to Ordnance elementary, the grade school I attended than Null elementary, but the classes were
small about forty-five kids per grade. The classes was definitely different as we had reading,
writing, math, English, gym, and music we received letter grades such as A, B, C, D, F. Though
