1) Ratan Tata
Ratan Tata was born on 28 December 1937, in a famous Tata family. A prominent family
belonging to Parsi committee. He is the greatest grandson of Jamshed Ji Tata the Tata
group founder.
After he graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Architecture and Structural
Engineering, he started his career in Tata group in 1962.In 1971, he was appointed as the
Director-in- Charge of the National Radio & Electronics Company Limited (Nalco), a
company that was in dire financial difficulty. He suggested that the company should invest
in developing high-technology products, rather than in consumer electronics. By following
the suggestions of Rata Tata, Nalco grew and recovered its losses from 1972 to 1975.In
1991 he became the chairman of the Tata group. Under his chairmanship the company had
done various acquisitions. Under his guidance the company went public and got listed on
the New York Stock Exchange.
Ratan Tata continued to expand upon the pioneering spirit of Tata Group, showcased by
companies like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)- Asia’s largest
software & services company, Tata Salt ,Tata Chemicals, Tata Tea, Taj Hotels etc.

despite of odds, by introducing world’s cheapest car: Nano, made him one of the most
