Death Has no Favoritism
The book, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is about 1922 New York at the
peak of the prohibition era. In the court of law George Wilson would clearly be responsible for
the death of Gatsby because he pulled the trigger. In the book, Nick Carraway, a WWI veteran,
moves to West Egg, Long Island to learn about the bond business. As he is there he visits East
Egg where his cousin, Daisy Buchanan, and her husband, one of Nick’s Yale buddies, Tom
Buchanan lives. When Tom went to answer the phone, Jordan Baker, One of Daisy’s childhood
friends, who was at the house with them told Nick that Tom is having an affair with a woman
who lives in New York. The woman is revealed to be Myrtle Wilson, the wife of George
Wilson. As the story goes on Nick gets invited to a party from his mysterious neighbor, Jay
