Novel Reflection Paper
“The Great Gatsby”
The Great Gatsby, an early 20th century novel wrote by F. Scott Fitzgerald portrays one
of the most iconic decades our country has ever experienced. From the post war economic booms
to the implementation of the Prohibition, the Roaring twenties were full of societal change that
was perfectly portrayed through the fictional novel “The Great Gatsby”. In history, I have always
been interesting in post-war economics because it is what has led to our country being portrayed
as one of the world’s best economies. Without the Roaring Twenties, our country would be
where we are at to this day politically, economically and socially, thus the reason I was very
intrigued on reading a fictional novel that was in fact wrote during such time period.
