REVIEW SHEET FOR TEST 1—US
Constitutionalism and Federalism
I will prepare your exam from the terms below and from my lecture notes. You will note that I
follow the flow of the textbook in pulling terms for your consideration. But be sure to understand
a given term within the context of all your reading for the unit (e.g., the Bill of Rights might
appear in several places in your readings and you must be aware of all its applications). You can
find most of the material in the textbook readings. Some terms will require Internet research.
Terms in [brackets] are not in the book and will required some Google (or other search engine)
research to define. I have already defined many of the terms in brackets for you. Of course, you
will want to define and consider terms found in brackets within the context of the adjoining
material.
Be sure to study the “Additional Terms” at the end of the review sheet of terms. Most of the
terms in this section are mentioned in the book but I have explained them for you for
clarification. Also be certain to study my outline of the U.S. Constitution and some of the key
amendments. You will find this at the end of the review sheet of terms and it will prove very
useful for you on the exam.
I have included on this work sheet most of the material that I would have placed on a separate
“Lecture Notes” document. I put those notes for your convenience so you would have
everything in one place.
I recommend that you complete your review sheet on your computer’s word processor.
Highlight and copy this document and then paste it only your word processor. Type in the
answers to the terms from your textbook and other notes I may have given you. You can
then study the completed review sheet for the exam. You may also use the completed
review sheet when taking your exam online. I recommend that you keep the completed
document open when taking the test and if you need to look up a term you can use the
“find” function on your computer (hit “Cntl” and “f” on a PC).
