Energy and the environment in general –
Republican Party
Three specific goals of the party
Oil and Gas Production – the republican party thinks that countries that produce oil and gas should
charge a portion of tax incentives and as support; allowing more gas exploration on federal lands but
with safety laws and regulations.
Carbon Tax– The oil industry is not ready for a carbon tax; company’s like ExxonMobil and other
industries consider carbon to being a dangerous substance that can do little to a lot damage so they are
supporting anti-carbon tax resolution.
Alternative fuel/ Renewable – Support renewable energy sources but not support the expenses of the
country’s economy. Considered as an environmental issue just as well as an economic one

Can purchase oil and gas resources on and off the shore
Carbon dioxide isn’t the only substance causing global warming and it would be transparent and cost –
effective
If we develop our resources we will be growing economically; the use of alternative fuels in
transportation would be a good use to energy independence.
