Going to the Wilderness
Being tossed headfirst into something new is always scary. Whether it is something little
or something major. One of the hardest things that I have had to deal with was moving away
from home and friends and family to come to college where I knew no one. That could be a good
thing because now no one knows anything about you and you are able to “start over” in some
sense. At the same time you get that sense of loneliness from time to time. Me personally being
from a really small town everyone knew everyone. The people I was friends with I had grown up
with since we were in diapers, and now I have to try and learn who I am without some of my best
friends by my side everyday.
Coming to Wesleyan wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be due to the fact that one of my
good friends is here. We have been together since we were four years old, and now we go to the
