ABSTRACT
Nowadays, globalization is an overwhelming world trend. 21st Century. A century of
globalization where all the societies with different culture live together. Cultures are the core
values that cannot be disappeared just because of globalization. Culture manifests through
language in the communication of concepts, ideas and beliefs. For some, it is a positive
process leading to shared social values worldwide. In the new era of globalization, people
become much more concerned about the uniqueness and particularity of their own culture.
However, societies think globalization is a big threat as the young generation is sweeping
away with different cultures mostly adapting the culture of western style that why
westernization is gradually being transported across the globe as the acceptable way of
behavior. So, in terms of Culture, is Globalization an opportunity or a threat? This paper
provides a critical analysis how globalization have done to the world cultural diversity. And
to understand the perspective of globalization toward culture.

1. INTRODUCTION
Millions of years ago the world was a different place. It consisted of land masses
isolated from each other. People living in one land knew nothing of those living in other
distant lands. Centuries later when people started to communicate and interact with each
other, the isolated world started to shrink. Globalization has made people around the whole
world connected with each other. So, what exactly is globalization? Globalization can be an
empowering entity. It can interconnect the world, support economic development, provide
information availability and assist in developing a global village. Of course, it seems
globalization is one of the most widely use, however it slowly killing us from the inside.
Because it creates a global culture in which the identity is combined that tends to bring a
homogenous culture throughout the world. It forces threaten cultural stability and cultural
changes, particularly in multicultural societies and language loss. Language has been dropped
so much to the point that heritage and cultural values will be in the risk of becoming extinct.
It can be said that every culture of world was affected by one way or other, only one culture

dominates that is western culture. Today, every culture of the world is under the umbrella of
western culture, it was always interest of west to rule over the world. Each culture has its own
personality. The fact that we are all human does not mean that we are all the same. To ignore
this would be destroying God’s own beauty. There are a number of negative
impacts globalization has had on cultural diversity.

Culture has been defined differently by people. The different definitions attach to
culture is based on the differences in the mind of the people. Globalization is a culture killer,
at first it makes your country become the most essential part of the world, it’s brought about
by cross-border trade in goods and services, technology, and flows of investment, people,
