Compare & contrast differences/similarities of educational issues between the three
countries (U.S., France, & China).
After examining the three articles, one is able to see many similarities and differences
between the two. Each of these articles is addressing how the “economic, political, religious, and
cultural” backgrounds in the countries of China, France, and the United States have played a role
in the way their educational systems have developed, as well as what types of reforms could be
made to improve existing problems (Orivel-Orivel, 2002). For each of these three countries, we
can see that the level of national education is not at the desired level. Although the United States
appears to have the best education system of the three, with several very highly ranked
institutions, the same cannot be said of France or China. These two countries have quite a poor
system of higher education, and often see many of their students not continue on, or do so
