Introduction
Climate change is happening at an alarming rate. Unfortunately, climate change and
global warming pose the biggest challenges in our world today. Because of this change, our
world is facing the greatest environmental challenge. It is threatening our survival on the planet.
The world temperature has increased considerably. With the rise in global temperatures, human,
animals, and plants are under threat.
What factors lead to climate change?
Climate change is occurring because of multiple reasons.
Change in the sun energy has a profound effect on the environment. Interestingly, the
climate is influenced by natural changes that occur often. For instance, the alteration in the sun
and change in earth orbit has a significant effect on the environment. According to scientific
study, the sun intensity influences earth warming and cooling effects (Cahill et al. 35). The tilt of
the orbit could affect the amount of sun reaching the earth surface. In the past, the change in
intensity of the sun has had an effect on the weather patterns. For instance, in the 17th and part of
the 18th century, the world experienced “Little Ice Age” which was a combination of cold
temperatures and increased ice in the Polar Regions (Cahill et al. 35). In most parts of the North
America, cold temperatures were experienced for over a century. Today, the amount of sun
intensity has increased in the Antarctica regions, which has resulted in melting of the ice.

Although the sun heat has an effect on weather and climate, the outcome is not intensive. It can
be felt if the pattern persists over hundreds of years.
An increase in human activities is to blame for global warming and climate change
(Crowley 56). For instance, deforestation among other human activities has triggered climate to
evolve over the years. Human activities produce carbon dioxide that is harmful to the
environment. When a high amount of carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, the ozone
layer is destroyed, which result in global warming. Today, the world temperature has been rising.
Experts say that the ice in the Polar Regions has reduced considerably because of global
warming (Crowley 56). The worst human activities that pose a danger to the environment and
contribute to increased in climate change includes the automobile industry, industrial activities,
and cutting down of trees, mining, and pollution of the environment.
