Despite Zurich being considered the cornerstone of most financial and commercial
business practices. However there constitution changed in the year 1874, and
included a Referendum, which allows the entire district to take part in, votes too. In
the year 1891, a new article was added called the “right to initiative” This would
allow voters if to try and have any article from the constitution tweaked if necessary
to try and make it more accurate or updated if needed. As well as having the option
to add new articles as well.
Some examples of articles that were changed were, “mandatory referendum
on international treaties signed by Switzerland.” Completed in 1921 in the month or
January and “provisions against overpricing.” Done on 1982 in the month of
November. Switzerland Constitution was once again changed in the year 1999 in the
month of April, and than came into effect the following year on January 1st. This
helped tax laws become much more in-depth and detail. At this point, this brought
the article to six different parts as well as a Preamble, which brings it to 196
different articles.
Being that the Switzerland constitution is broken up into six different parts,
each one of them helps to outline how Switzerland is governed. First title is the
“General Provisions” invocation of God, which, talks about the rights the citizens of
Switzerland have that the state authorities cannot revoke. Which speaks about
liberty, independence, and democracy. Title one also, speaks about trying to have
peace and “openness” to the world. Title 2 speaks on the Switzerland’s fundamental
rights, and also where their bill of rights is located. As well as mentioning that
everyone under the law is considered equal to one another, prevents discrimination
