Gilgamesh and Odysseus 2
Odysseus and Gilgamesh were both great heroes even though both encounter different
heroic acts. So even though both are heroes for their countries there are some differences be-
tween the two. The epic of Gilgamesh stated how the Babylonian king became strong because of
certain powers given to him. Gilgamesh was very intelligent just like other heroes. Ulysses was
also very intelligent and very powerful though not as powerful as Gilgamesh.
Thesis sentence
Kings got granted power and strength by attributes vested in others that believed in them.
Popularity and fame come from authority, intelligence and great power.
