Group Project Reflection
My group and I are working on a cutout project that reflects the Epic of Gilgamesh in a
whole new light. It sees the Epic of Gilgamesh as the first gay love story. This is definitely
not the easiest project and there are a lot of technical issues we still need to figure out, but
I do believe that all the effort we are putting into this project will turn out beneficial to us.
I was in charge of a couple of things. I gathered some backgrounds and found the main
characters; Enkidu and Gilgamesh. I also took out a camera from the school’s library to
take the pictures we were going to need.
At this point, we are pretty much done with the pictures/frames of the cutouts, and I am
also working on the video editing of the project. We are still not sure how we are going to
introduce dialogue in the story; we can either add it to the video itself or say the script in
front of the class as we are showing the video. If we do the first option I would be in
charge of integrating the voices into the video, if we do the latter I would have to voice
either Enkidu or Gilgamesh. Like I stated before, this was not the easiest project we could
have chosen, but it certainly will be worth the hard work as it will entertain and engage the
audience while showing some essence of the Epic of Gilgamesh.
