Gender Roles in the workplace
When most of our parents grew up, men and women always had certain things expected
of them due to their gender. Men were the ones to work and provide for the family, while women
were to take care of the household and not work at all. Traditional gender roles state that men are
expected to work more masculine jobs such as construction, mechanics, and production and
women are to work more feminine jobs being nurses, secretary, and cooks, but roles for men and
women have changed as in today’s society men and women are working all types of jobs. The
question of are traditional gender roles still pertinent in the workforce or are they no longer
