Gender Inequality: 1879 vs 2020
In Henrik Ibsen’s, A Doll’s House, readers get a glimpse of life in the 1800s. The main
characters Nora and Torvald, represent marriage and typical gender roles in their era. Torvald is
the misogynistic husband, while Nora is the wife that takes whatever he throws at her. One may
compare and contrast that past time to today’s present and notice significant changes for women.
However, many prejudices remain, such as unequal pay between men and women and high
