Gender Identity
Have you ever heard of the term transgender? According to the American Psychological
Association, the article, “Transgender people, gender identity and gender expression” say that
“transgender is an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or
behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to wish they were assigned to
at birth.” What do you know about the transgender community? So, transgender’s face a lot of
discrimination, violence, and many health issues because there are not many doctors that will
handle them. Transgender’s deal with a lot of violence in their communities; people like to
discriminate against them so much and treat them as if they aren’t people. And what I am starting
to notice is that they are beginning to speak more about transgender’s and how there are issues
concerning bathrooms and what bathrooms they can and cannot use. Transgender ‘s is
