The Miserable Destiny of Adopted Children
With the development of modern society, the concept of nuclear family has been changed.
In the past, if we pictured a family, it must include a father, mother, and then children. However,
it comes up with single parent and lesbian parents nowadays. Now, same-sex marriage is quite
accepted, and they also want to raise children, as do heterosexual couples. England and Wales has
allowed same sex partners and unmarried couples for adoption children in 2002; The European
Court of Human Rights has allowed lesbian couple to adopt a child in 2006; and the Icelandic
Parliament in June, 2006. At present, there are 12 countries around the world allowing gay
adoption, such as Guam, Andorra, Belgium, Iceland, the Netherlands, Sweden, South Africa, Spain,
